With over 3,000 years of history, Malaga has become one of the most important cultural destinations in the Mediterranean. The birthplace of world-renowned artists such as Pablo Picasso, the city combines historical monuments, world-class museums, Mediterranean cuisine and a vibrant atmosphere that can be enjoyed at every turn.
Strolling through Malaga means discovering the legacy of the Phoenicians, Romans and Arabs, enjoying art in its museums, sampling typical dishes in bars and restaurants and exploring lively shopping streets full of life.

DAY 1 – Historic centre and port
📍 Visit 1 – Calle Larios and Carmen Thyssen Museum

We begin our tour on the iconic Calle Larios, the city’s main shopping street. Surrounded by elegant buildings and shops, it is the ideal place to start your visit, continuing on to Plaza de la Constitución, the heart of the historic centre.
From there, we walk along Calle Compañía to the Carmen Thyssen Museum in Málaga, located in the historic 16th-century Villalón Palace.
This museum houses an outstanding collection of 19th-century Spanish paintings, with a special focus on Andalusian art. Among its artists are Joaquín Sorolla, Julio Romero de Torres and Valeriano Domínguez-Bécquer.
☕ Local tip: Take the opportunity to enjoy a typical Malaga breakfast: coffee with churros or a ‘pitufo’. In Malaga, there are up to nine different ways to order coffee.

DAY 2 – Choose your route
For the second day, we suggest two alternatives depending on your interests.
🌿 Route 1 – Botanical Malaga and contemporary art
Visit 1 – La Concepción Botanical Gardens

One of the most spectacular tropical gardens in Europe. It was created in 1855 by the Marquises of Casa Loring and brings together exotic species from all over the world.
Among waterfalls, bridges, statues and nature trails, you can discover palm trees, bamboo, aquatic plants and historic gardens.
Visit 2 – CAC Málaga

Back in the city centre, we can visit the Malaga Contemporary Art Centre, located in the old wholesale market.
The museum houses works by international artists and has become one of the most important cultural spaces for contemporary art in Spain.
🏛️ Route 2 – Traditional Malaga
Visit 1 – Cervantes Theatre

One of Malaga’s historic theatres, opened in 1870. Today it hosts concerts, opera, theatre and the famous Malaga Film Festival.
Visit 2 – Wine Museum

Located in the Plaza de los Viñeros, it offers an insight into the history and production of Malaga wines. The visit usually includes a tasting.
Visit 3 – Atarazanas Market

One of the most beautiful markets in Andalusia. Here you can discover fresh produce and authentic local life in Malaga.
Visit 4 – Pedregalejo

End your trip on the Pedregalejo seafront promenade. Its beach bars by the sea are the perfect place to try:

- Thin shells
